Hut, hut, hut
Atlanta has a huge commuter population which presented a captive radio audience for this national chain. When a spot was running, the next morning the regional VP of sales would send us the previous day’s delivery revenue. Talk about performance anxiety. Luckily this spot sold a lot of pepperoni pizza.
No bull
Tennessee’s Chattem, Inc. owned several prominent brands and was a great client. The CEO was one of the top five amateur tennis players in the U.S. and a huge fan of this waterproof sunblock. I’ve never used such an effective sunblock and promoting this product felt like a public service. This spot features original music performed and produced at White Dog Studios in Atlanta.
A Coke habit
Central Park is a beloved, pioneer double drive-through calorie distributor. They pour Coke products and lots of it, and Coke helped fund the chain’s ad budget, which I appreciated. Voice talent was Jim Paddock, the CD who give me my first agency job, and George Lowe, the voice of TV’s Space Ghost. No chickens were harmed in the making of this production.
Saving lives while saving a trip
SRMC is a full-service hospital south of the Triangle, and their challenge was getting local patients to seek care at SRMC rather than driving 90 minutes north to the better-known UNC or Duke teaching hospitals. One of a series of real-life patient profiles. Production at SoundTrax Studios in Raleigh.
Double dealing
The double drive-through is an experience all its own, and a healthy number of folks opted for this Southern standby to get their cholesterol to go. Original music, production and editing all at Atlanta’s iconic Doppler Studios. We had enough hot guitar riffs for a couple singles, but tragically had to dial down what we got in the session because, you know, advertising.
